Pushing Daisies lasted only 22 episodes, technically two seasons (the WGA strike truncated the first one) but really more like one. But that it even made it that long is kind of a miracle, considering it's the type of quirky fantasy show that crops up periodically only to fizzle out and be pulled after a few episodes. What made Pushing Daisies different was its sweetness, its steel-trap plotting, and the fact that it was just really funny. There was a lot to mine in its convoluted setup (Google if you're unaware, we don't have time for that conversation) and it's a shame it didn't stumble to a satisfying conclusion. But the few episodes of Pushing Daisies we got are sharp, visually dazzling, and will crack you up.
